TIMB calls on tobacco farmers to renew grower numbers

The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board has called on tobacco farmers across the country to renew their grower numbers before October 31.

The call was made through official TIMB X wall,

“As the 2023/24 production season commences, be sure to get your grower number renewed. Before 31 October, renewal is $10. Official TIMB receipts will be issued to farmers for all payments made including penalties.”

In order to be eligible to register as a tobacco grower with TIMB, one should have proof of land ownership such as a certified offer letter or permit from the Rural District Council, stamped recommendation letter from the local Agritex Officer, a certified copy of  National Identity Card and a registration fee payable upon allocation of a grower number.

If a farmer is leasing the land, they have to produce an affidavit, certified copy of lease agreement and a National Identification Card from the land holder.

Those who are registering as a company they have to produce CR14, Certificate of Incorporation, tax clearance and certified copies of IDs all of the Directors.
