A man who took advantage of a church mate’s unavailability and raped his wife has been given bail.
Solomon Nyaude, 40, appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing rape allegations.
The State, through prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti alleges that Nyaude who is a church mate to the 35-year-old complainant, went to her place and forcibly opened her door.
Nyaude did not waste time as he quickly pushed the complainant on to the sofa and removed her dress, removed his short and raped her.
On a separate occasion, Nyaude is alleged to have gone to the complainant’s house and asked her where her husband and gone to.
After that, Nyaude pushed the complainant on the sofa and raped her.
Nyaude was ordered to deposit US$200 as bail.
He will appear in court on September 2023.
