After playing out a goalless stalemate in their last meeting, FC Platinum and CAPS United will renew their rivalry at Mandava Stadium on Saturday, with the hosts determined to have the final say this time around.
The Platinum Boys will be banking on home advantage and the support of their fans as they seek to turn their recent draw against Chicken Inn into a winning result against the Green Machine.
FC Platinum assistant coach Onismor Bhasera, who joined the club in September, believes his charges are ready for the challenge, saying the players have been working hard in training and are in good spirits ahead of the match.
Reflecting on the draw against Chicken Inn, Bhasera said picking up a point away from home was a positive result, although his team had hoped to secure all three points.
“Collecting a point away from home was a very good result. Of course, we wanted a win, but we managed to come back home with a point. It was not easy playing there,” he said.

On Saturday, FC Platinum will face CAPS United in their Matchday 31 encounter, a game that will also determine which of the two teams finishes with more points from their meetings this season.
Makepekepe head into the clash on the back of a positive run in their last two league matches. They secured a victory over MWOS before playing out a goalless draw against Simba Bhora.
Bhasera acknowledged the quality within the opposition ranks but insisted that his team also has the players needed to compete for victory.
“CAPS United is a big team. They have quality players, and so do we. It’s not going to be easy, of course, but the players have been training and working very hard,” he said.
With strong support likely to be crucial against a traditional giant like CAPS United, Bhasera has appealed to MaPlatso fans to turn out in large numbers and give the team the backing it needs.
“We really want to rally our supporters. They must come in their numbers to support us. We really need our 12th man so that we can collect three points at home,” he said.
