A 41-year-old Harare man was remanded in custody after he allegedly forced his wife to have unprotected sex twice at knifepoint following a domestic dispute on September 6, 2026.
Albert Tambara appeared before Harare Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa facing rape charges.
The complainant is his wife, Enifa Hamadziripi.
The State alleges that around midnight on September 6, Tambara went to Hamadziripi’s residence and found her in a room with another man, both of them allegedly naked.
It is alleged that Tambara became angry, picked up a knife from the stove and pointed it at Hamadziripi while pouring alcohol on her.

He allegedly tore her dress and ordered her to perform a sexual act on him.
The State further alleges that Tambara then forcibly had unprotected sexual intercourse with Hamadziripi without her consent.
Afterwards, he allegedly ordered the other man to have sex with Hamadziripi.
When the man refused, Tambara allegedly ordered Hamadziripi forced her to have sexual intercourse with him for a second time.
Hamadziripi was later referred to hospital for a medical examination.
Tambara was remanded in custody.
