A 30-year-old Bulawayo man has been jailed for an effective four years for stealing a Toyota Vitz worth US$7,000 from a house in Famona.
Brendon Ndlovu of Hillside was convicted of theft of a motor vehicle by the Bulawayo Magistrates’ Court and sentenced to six years in prison, with two years suspended for five years.
The court heard that on June 29, 2026, the complainant, Pragji Darren Ghiren, parked his Toyota Vitz at his house on Matopos Road, Famona, and left the keys with his mother, Shanti Pragji.

Ndlovu and his alleged accomplice, Brain Mapfumo, who is still at large, allegedly scaled the perimeter fence, forced open a kitchen door and stole the house and vehicle keys.
They then used the keys to start the vehicle and drove away.
Ndlovu was arrested on September 3, 2026, while allegedly attempting to sell the stolen vehicle to car breakers in Kelvin, Bulawayo.
The vehicle was recovered intact and valued at US$7,000.
Ndlovu was remanded in custody to begin serving his sentence.
