Musician Darlington “Mambo Dhuterere” Mutseta has been named among suspects wanted by police in connection with a series of armed robbery cases in Ruwa, Rusape and Harare.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said on Tuesday that three suspects had been arrested, while Dhuterere and three other alleged accomplices remained at large.
Those arrested were identified as Tinei Makaripe, 47, Pungurayi Mukumbachaza and Gabriel Mukambachaza, 41. Police named the wanted accomplices as Khule Diva, Mambo Dhuterere, Kasongo and Senior Gama.
Police said the suspects allegedly attacked a company at Borders Estate in Ruwa at about 12.30am on September 13 and stole US$108 000 after attacking and restraining workers.
Makaripe was reportedly apprehended by company employees after falling while attempting to climb over the perimeter wall as the suspects fled.
Detectives later arrested Mukumbachaza in Damofalls Phase 1, Harare, recovering US$4 900 which police said had been hidden in his vehicle.
Mukambachaza was arrested at his rural home in Rusape, where detectives recovered US$5 000, two pistols, handcuffs, fuse cables, explosives and three balaclavas.

The firearms included a Star pistol loaded with one round and a Tokarev pistol loaded with seven rounds. Police said the Tokarev had been stolen during an armed robbery at a steel company in Southerton on March 12, 2026.
The suspects are also being linked to four other armed robbery cases.
Police said a January 26 robbery at a beverages company in Rusape resulted in the theft of US$39 828, a Star pistol loaded with five rounds, pepper spray, handcuffs and three cellphones.
Another robbery was reported on March 12 at a steel company along Tilbury Road in Southerton, Harare, where US$14 118 was allegedly stolen.
Police said investigations were continuing and appealed for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects still at large.
Meanwhile, police are separately investigating the murder of Bulawayo businessperson Tadius Rutanhire, 52, who was shot dead during an alleged armed robbery near a service station along JMN Nkomo Street on September 14.
Three unidentified suspects allegedly shot Rutanhire with a pistol before fleeing with his bag containing US$10 000.
