The State of Palestine has condemned actions by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich after they allegedly encouraged thousands of Israeli settlers and extremists to gather along the Gaza perimeter to call for the re-establishment of Israeli settlements in the territory.
Palestinian Ambassador Tamer Almassri described the move as "dangerous and provocative", saying it represented an attempt to advance further land confiscation and resulted from the international community's failure to hold Israel accountable for alleged violations of international law.
"This blatant push for further land theft is a direct consequence of the international community's historic failure to hold Israel accountable for its continuous violations of international law," Almassri said.
He claimed that Israeli forces currently control more than 60 percent of the Gaza Strip and accused them of continuing military operations despite the declared ceasefire agreement.

"Since the implementation of the so-called ceasefire, continuous military aggression has killed 1,123 Palestinians in Gaza, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed since the onset of what we describe as genocide in 2023 to 73,283," he said.
Almassri further accused Israeli forces of carrying out attacks across Gaza, restricting humanitarian access and worsening the humanitarian crisis through the killing of civilians, forced displacement and the collapse of essential services.
The State of Palestine called on the United Nations, international human rights organisations and the broader international community to move beyond diplomatic statements and take stronger action through sanctions, the enforcement of international law and legal accountability.
"The international community must enforce concrete sanctions, international law and legal accountability to stop Israel's ongoing campaign of genocide, land confiscation and forced displacement," the statement said.
