Zimbabwe to Host World Athletics CECS Level 2 Middle and Long-Distance Coaching Course

The National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (NAAZ) has announced that it will host the prestigious World Athletics Coaches Education and Certification System (CECS) Level 2 Course in Middle and Long Distance running. The program is scheduled for 26–31 October 2025 at the historic White City Stadium in Bulawayo.

The high-level training initiative will be directed by World Athletics–appointed expert Mr. Gunter Lange of Germany, a globally recognized authority in endurance running. Only 15 participants will be admitted to the course, ensuring intensive learning and close mentorship.

The course fee is US$350, which covers training, course materials, lunches, refreshments, and internationally recognized certification. Participants are encouraged to pay a deposit of US$50 to secure their slot.

Speaking on the importance of the program, NAAZ President Mr. Tendai Tagara said:

The CECS Level 2 program is a crucial pathway for coaches aspiring to raise their technical and scientific knowledge in middle- and long-distance disciplines. It forms part of NAAZ’s broader vision to strengthen the foundations of athletics development across the country by investing in skilled coaches who can nurture the next generation of athletes.
