
Tapiwanashe Makarawu’s outstanding season received the highest honour in Bindura at the 2025 National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe Athletics Excellence Awards, where he was crowned the Overall Best Sportsperson of the Year.
Though he could not attend the ceremony, his father, Richard Makarawu, accepted the award on his behalf, underscoring the strong family support behind the athlete’s rising career.
Makarawu also walked away with the Best Senior Male Athlete of the Year award, capping off a dominant year in both local and international athletics.
