A 36-year-old has been charged with rape after allegedly sexually abusing 10-year-old mentally-challenged minor who also has physical disabilities.
David Adamson, of New Mabvuku appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts.
The State, through prosecutor Pardon Dziva, alleges that on August 7, in New Mabvuku, Adamson is alleged to have raped the complainant, taking advantage of her situation.
This happened after the complainant’s mother had left her at a neighbor’s place which is the same house where Adamson resides.
Adamson is alleged to have taken the complainant to the toilet and raped her there.
Gofa ordered Adamson to apply for bail at the High Court because of the seriousness of the crime he was facing.
