A Waterfalls man, who allowed a parking dispute to lead him into using firearm, has appeared in court.
Elvis Mudarikwa, 32, of Waterfalls, appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing allegations of attempted murder.
The State, through prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti alleges that on May 14, at around 0245 hours, Mudarikwa and the complainant were in the same club called Karma.
Mudarikwa is alleged to have blocked complainant’s car using his Honda Fit, resulting in the complainant breaking the driver’s window of Mudarikwa’s car.
The State alleges that Mudarikwa drove away but he was being followed by the complainant, who caught up with him and blocked him.
Mudarikwa withdrew a firearm, fired several shots and the complainant was shot on the left leg below the knee by one of the shots.
On July 5, detectives were informed on the whereabouts of Mudarikwa, leading to his arrest and the recovery of the firearm that was used in the commission of the offence.
He was ordered to pay ZWL$300 000 as bail and instructed to appear in court on August 29.
