Woman scalds hubby with boiling water

A woman from Shurugwi, Melody Nyandani, 29, was last week arrested after she scalded her husband, Blessing Kamwendo, 33, with boiling water following an argument over an undisclosed issue.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident, saying the case is now before the court.

Charles Kamwendo, brother to Blessing, said that Blessing confronted his wife about why she had brought a room divider, kitchen unit, speakers and an amplifier from their rural home in Gutsaruzhinji to their house in Impali.

She told him that she wanted them there.

Blessing reportedly noticed that the speakers were missing two days later, with Nyandani telling him that she had taken them back to the village.

Blessing went to the bar, and on his return, Nyandani allegedly snatched his car keys, and the two began arguing.

A female neighbour, Primrose Josi, was called in to mediate.

Nyandani came out of the house holding a bucket filled with hot water and scalded her husband, who was talking with Josi.

Blessing was rushed to Makarima Hospital.

Police arrested Nyandani on Saturday.
