Diesel is now capped at US$2.04 per litre, while petrol blend (E20) costs US$2.05 per litre, according to the latest fuel prices announced by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority.

In a notice dated October 8, 2026, ZERA said the prices were equivalent to ZiG54.55 per litre for diesel and ZiG54.70 for petrol blend.

“Please be advised of the fuel prices for diesel and blend effective 08 October 2026. The prices are as follows,” the regulator said.

The notice said the prescribed prices apply to diesel 50 and E20 petrol blend, which contains 20 percent ethanol.

However, fuel retailers may sell the products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages.

“Operators may sell the petroleum products below the prescribed prices depending on their trading advantages and should display prices in a prominent place as provided for by the fuel pricing regulations,” ZERA said.

The new prices provide motorists, transport operators and businesses with an updated reference for fuel costs, which influence transport fares, goods distribution and operating expenses.

ZERA advised stakeholders to verify its petroleum price announcements through the authority’s official website and social media platforms.
