
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei as Minister of Economic Development and Investment Promotion, while Professor Mthuli Ncube has been reassigned as Minister of Finance.
According to statements announced on appointments October 8, issued by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya confirmed both changes take effect immediately.
The appointment statement said that, “In terms of Section 104, Subsection (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, His Excellency the President, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has appointed Kudakwashe Tagwirei as Minister of Economic Development and Investment Promotion.”

It added: “The appointment is with immediate effect.”
In a separate statement, Rushwaya said Mnangagwa had “re-assigned Mthuli Ncube as Minister of Finance.”
The statement also confirmed that “The re-assignment is with immediate effect.”
The changes place Tagwirei in charge of the Government portfolio responsible for economic development and investment promotion, while Ncube returns to the Finance Ministry.
