Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with a gang of local brothers who allegedly committed a string of armed robberies and sexual assaults across the city. This brings the total number of arrests to four.
On Tuesday, brothers Fortune Ngoshi (32) and Pride Ngoshi (29) appeared before Harare Magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka. They face 24 counts of rape, aggravated indecent assault, and robbery, and have been remanded in custody. Their two newly arrested accomplices, apprehended by CID Homicide detectives, are expected to appear in court soon.
The State alleges that between June 19 and June 28, the gang targeted multiple households while armed with pistols, machetes, and knives.

In one incident in White Cliff, the gang broke into a home to steal cash, groceries, and household goods. During the raid, several women and girls including juveniles whose identities are legally protected—were sexually assaulted and robbed of their valuables. Other home invasions saw victims losing cash and property worth upwards of US$1,600 and US$2,800.
Police investigations have since recovered a portion of the stolen property, including cellphones, a laptop battery, and a pistol used during the crimes.
The prosecution successfully opposed bail, arguing that the severe penalties create a flight risk. Furthermore, prosecutors noted that the accused lack fixed addresses, could interfere with local witnesses, and might jeopardize ongoing investigations while other accomplices remain at large.
