A Harare woman was allegedly stalked, assaulted and stabbed several times by her former boyfriend outside her sister's home after he threatened to kill her.
Panaishe Katena, 30, of Old Highfield, is facing attempted murder charges in connection with the alleged attack on his ex-girlfriend, Priscilla Gadzikwa, 29.
Prosecutors allege that on February 28, 2026, at about 10:30pm, Katena followed Gadzikwa to her sister's home in the Antony area of Hopely, Waterfalls.
When she arrived at the house, Katena allegedly threatened to kill her. As she tried to escape by walking away, he caught up with her at the gate and struck her on the head with an empty beer bottle.

Gadzikwa managed to flee into the house and lock the door.
The State alleges Katena remained outside throughout the night, repeatedly threatening to kill Gadzikwa and her sister. He allegedly claimed he had already killed six people and that Gadzikwa would be the seventh.
The women remained inside the house until the following evening before reporting the incident to police, leading to Katena's arrest.
