
In Lusaka, Zimbabwe Under-18 handball captain Adrian Chivi is stepping into a major leadership role as the team begins its campaign at the IHF Zone VI Trophy.
Chivi, who is also head boy at Wanezi High School, says leadership is not about titles but about discipline, commitment and inspiring teammates both in class and on the court.
Balancing academics and sport is demanding, but the young leader has managed to maintain focus in both areas. As the team prepares for its opening match against Malawi at 11am today, Chivi emphasised unity and trust within the squad.

“Leadership is about unity and trust. If we communicate well and follow our coach’s guidance, we can bring out the best in each other. Today is not just about winning, it is about showing our character as a team,” he said.
