
Zimbabwean government has paid out more than US$32 million to farmers in a major effort to support the country's agriculture sector and ensure there is enough food for everyone.
The Grain Marketing Board (GMB) announced that it has now paid out US$32,388,822.03. This means that 88% of the money owed to farmers in US dollars has been settled. At the same time, ZWG 296,361,565.17 has been paid in local currency, covering 83% of those debts.

GMB Chief Executive Edson Badarai said these payments are a vital step in helping farmers stay in business and strengthening the nation's food supply.
"This funding from the Treasury brings much-needed relief," said Mr Badarai. "It shows the Government’s strong commitment to farming, which is the main engine of Zimbabwe's economy."
