
Dilesh Nguwaya, CEO and Executive Chairman of Geo Pomona, a leading Zimbabwean waste management firm, has arrived in Accra alongside President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, who is on a courtesy visit to Ghana.
During the visit, Geo Pomona is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Jospong Group of Companies, a Ghanaian conglomerate specialising in waste management. The partnership aims to leverage Geo Pomona’s expertise in environmental solutions with Jospong Group’s established operations in the sector.
With over 60 subsidiaries, the Jospong Group of Companies is among Ghana’s most diversified holding companies, maintaining a presence in both Africa and Asia. The group has earned recognition for providing innovative solutions to waste management challenges in developing African nations.

The MOU is expected to strengthen collaboration between Zimbabwean and Ghanaian companies in the waste management sector and promote sustainable environmental practices in the region.
Geo Pomona will sign the MOU with Jospong Group of Companies building on momentum from a previous visit in April 2024 that explored collaborative waste management solutions.
Speaking during the 2024 visit, Dr Nguwaya highlighted Geo Pomona’s transformation of Harare’s first-ever waste management facility, noting the company’s commitment to replicating such successes through partnerships.
Jospong Group founder, Dr. Joseph Agyepong, also praised Geo Pomona’s work in Zimbabwe and expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential to revolutionize waste management in Africa.
The collaboration, at the time, drew support from Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Ghana, Kufa Chinoza, who described the joint efforts as a “robust partnership” likely to reshape the waste management landscape in both nations.
