Geo Pomona Waste Management (Pvt) Ltd is set to represent Zimbabwe at the Africa Climate Summit 2 (ACS2) at the Addis International Convention Center in Ethiopia.

The three-day summit, running from 8–10 September, brings together governments, private sector leaders, and development partners to explore Africa’s path toward climate resilience.

The company is showcasing innovations in waste-to-energy transformation, land rehabilitation, recycling, and community-driven sustainability. According to Geo Pomona, its participation highlights Zimbabwe’s progress in renewable energy and circular economy solutions.

Geo Pomona CEO and Executive Chairman, Dilesh Nguwaya, who is leading the delegation, said the summit provides an opportunity to demonstrate practical climate solutions.

“Our mission has always been to turn today’s waste into tomorrow’s resources, and Africa Climate Summit 2 is the ideal platform to demonstrate how Zimbabwe is leading in this transformation because we own the biggest waste sorting plant in Southern Africa,” he stated.

Nguwaya emphasised that participation at ACS2 would help the company strengthen partnerships, access new technologies, and attract climate finance to scale solutions across Africa. He also noted the social benefits of sustainable waste management, including job creation, skills development, and improved community livelihoods.

Geo Pomona has previously participated in international climate forums, including COP 15 in Victoria Falls, where it presented its circular economy model and waste-to-energy innovations. Its presence at ACS2, the company said, reaffirms Zimbabwe’s commitment to the Paris Agreement, the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and climate-smart urban development.
