Popular actor Jackie Chan will be the main attraction at the China Film Festival in Zimbabwe happening on August 5 at Westgate Movies, celebrating 45 years of China-Zim relations with a vibrant fusion of film, food, and friendship.
The festival is brought by the China Film Administration, Chinese Embassy in Harare, the Zimbabwe Ministry of Sport, Arts and Recreation, and Cinema Society of Zimbabwe
Movies to be screened are
Panda Plan (1530 hrs) – Jackie Chan brings the laughs (and kung fu!) in a wild mission to save China’s pandas.
YOLO (1720 hrs) – China’s surprise box office smash is about a woman who fights her way to self-love and freedom.
Entry is free (but by invitation only). Sources at the embassy said they’re working to include as many guests as possible.
China’s film industry is booming, now the second biggest in the world, and this event brings that cinematic magic to Zimbabwe—where love for kung fu classics runs deep.
