Reggae artist Ras Caleb has announced the upcoming release of his highly anticipated album Mukaranga—a 14-track project that blends reggae and Afro sounds with conscious lyrics and infectious rhythms.

Described as both "mature and broad," the album is set to drop soon on major online platforms, with a launch event planned for Waterfalls.

“This album is very personal to me,” said Ras Caleb. “It’s my art and my thoughts, and every track represents a part of who I am.” Known for his rich roots reggae influence and thoughtful messaging, the artist has pushed creative boundaries on Mukaranga, teaming up with several notable collaborators.

Among the standout tracks are “Batadenga” and “Mabhawa,” both collaborations with Willem Tite. “The song Batadenga, which I did with Willem Tite, stands out,” Ras Caleb shared. “Mabhawa, which I also did with him, stands out for me as well. And Zimbuya—I love that one. Zimbuya Repa Kona. The song called This Time, Zembera is also a good song.”

He also enlisted Musafa King on the track Mukombe, a conscious piece that encourages resilience and moving forward.

“That’s what I want my art to represent,” he said. “It must motivate people to move forward in a positive manner.”

The album showcases an impressive range of themes and sonic experimentation. On the Afrobeat side, Ras Caleb teamed up with Kantoman for the danceable “Sekele.”

“The song I did with Kantoman is going to stand out. It’s a nice club song,” he said, highlighting the project's dual intention: to entertain and uplift.

Adding a personal touch, his wife contributed backing vocals, further grounding the album in authenticity and intimacy. “For me, generally, I love the whole of it,” he added.

Mukaranga follows Ras Caleb’s 2020 project Tsomu Tsomu, a reggae album released during the COVID-19 pandemic that focused on drug awareness and social consciousness. “That album had songs like Era Era. I think those songs are just going to be classics. My fans love that music.”

The new album comes in response to growing demand from his fanbase. “Everywhere we go, people are asking when the new material is coming through,” he said.

Following the release of singles like Ndarotamau Chato and Zig, Ras Caleb believes the appetite for conscious reggae music has only intensified.

He also revealed plans for music videos and live shows to support the album. “We’ve forged a partnership with a band called Zion Train,” he said.

“I’m going to be working with them, doing shows to promote the album around the city, around the country—anywhere it takes us.”

While the exact date and venue for the album launch remain under wraps, Ras Caleb confirmed it will be held in Waterfalls. “The venue is TBA for now. We will announce it in due time,” he assured.

Driven by a love for roots reggae and a commitment to message-driven music, Mukaranga promises to be one of Ras Caleb’s most impactful projects yet. “The countdown has started,” he declared. “And this one is for the people.”
