Oscar J Jeke – Zim Now Reporter

The 65th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, slated for April 21–26 in Bulawayo, is shaping up to be one of the most vibrant in recent years, with 95% of exhibition space already booked by April 7—up from 87% at the same point in 2024.

Information Minister Jenfan Muswere revealed that the number of direct exhibitors has surged to 596, a significant leap from 428 last year. Among them, 98 are first-time participants, reflecting growing confidence in Zimbabwe’s premier trade showcase.

International representation has also expanded, with 29 countries confirmed to exhibit, up from 27 in 2024. Key participants include the United States, United Kingdom, China, Brazil, France, South Africa, and—for the first time—India.

This year’s fair, themed “Industrialisation: Crafting an Integrated Landscape”, will run for six days and feature new events such as the Rural Industrialization Indaba. The fair will be officially opened by Mozambican President Daniel Chapo on April 25.

To accommodate the increased turnout, Air Zimbabwe and Fastjet have committed to boosting flight frequencies, ensuring smoother access for exhibitors and visitors.

Strategic collaborations between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the private sector are ongoing to maximise participation and create broader economic linkages.
