Victor Matiyenga, owner of Exquisite Cars Dealership, has issued a strong denial and condemnation of a fake account masquerading as him online.
The account, titled “Victor Matiyenga (Mr CEO) @Vic_Matiyenga,” emerged amid the recent surge of car purchases by entrepreneur Wicknell Chivayo, who has been directing recipients to “Go and See Victor” at the dealership.
Matiyenga asserts that the fake account is a malicious attempt to tarnish his reputation and that of his company. He emphasises his complete dissociation from the account and urges the public to be wary of its activities. He has initiated both legal and criminal proceedings against the perpetrators behind the fake account.
This development follows Chivayo’s high-profile car-buying spree, where he has been acquiring luxury vehicles from Exquisite Cars and donating them to various individuals, including musicians, church members, and others. While Chivayo directs recipients to “Go and See Victor,”Matiyenga clarifies that he had no personal involvement in these transactions and is not responsible for Chivayo’s actions or the subsequent confusion.
Despite the challenges, Exquisite Cars Dealership remains a leading player in the Zimbabwean automotive industry, known for its focus on premium car sales and valuations. Matiyenga expressed confidence that legal action will bring the culprits to justice and protect his compan’s reputation.
