Co-director of Berakhah Holdings Private Limited has been taken to court by the director of Jadeyed Investments after unfairly kicking him out of the company he had invested more than R500 000 in.

Jeriphanos Kambere, 49 of Hatfield, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi on fraud allegations.

The complainant is Decide Chisango, 49, director of Jadeyed Investments Private Limited.

The State, through prosecutor Zororai Nkomo, alleges that in March 2020, Kambere approached Chisango and told him that he intended to have a joint venture in an IBR roofing sheets manufacturing project with him.

Chisango showed interest in the business and Kambere said he had already procured the roofing sheets and manufacturing machine at R453 000 from South Africa and he wanted the money from Chisango so that the business would commence.

Chisango injected R527 000 in the business.

On March 27, 2020, Kambere and Chisango formed a company called Berakhah Holdings Limited in which they directed.

The company was duly registered in terms of the laws of Zimbabwe.

On June 7, 2021, Kambere went to the Registrar of Companies in Harare and allegedly lied that Chisango had resigned from the company and caused the Registrar of Companies to make changes on the company papers, removing Chisango from the company directorship.

In January 2022, Chisango noticed some discrepancies on the company funds and asked for an audit but Kambere resisted.

Kambere expelled Chisango from the company premises and told him that he did not own anything at the company.

Chisango later discovered that Kambere had clandestinely removed him from the company directorship without his knowledge.

On June 6, 2023, Chisango reported the matter to the police, leading to arrest of the accused.

As a result of Kambere’s lies, Chisango lost R527 000 which he had invested in the company.

Kambere, who was coming from home, was ordered to appear in court on September 25 for his trial date.
