A 33-year-old man who forced himself onto a 14-year-old girl has been arraigned before the court.
Jonasi Gusinyo appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa, facing rape allegations.
The State, through prosecutor Pardon Dziva, alleges on July 27, 2023, at around 1800 hours, Gusinyo met with the complainant in the street and proposed love to her.
Gusinyo then took her to a secluded place in Tafara where he ordered the complainant to remove her pant and she refused.
He threatened to kill her and because of fear she gave in and they had sex without her consent. They did this several times from July 27 to August 3, 2023.
On August 3, at around 1800 hours, the complainant sneaked from Gusinyo intending to go to church and on the way, she met two boys who were looking for her as she had run away from her aunt’s place.
The complainant’s aunt was told and later went to Gusinyo’s residence and he was arrested.
He was remanded in custody.
