Justice Mugota has taken on a high risk assignment at relegation threatened Batanai FC, with the coach reportedly set to pocket a $4,000 survival bonus if he succeeds in keeping the club in the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League.
Mugota parted ways with Marare FC on Thursday following a dispute over a reported $1,260 payment before making a swift return to the dugout by signing for Batanai FC on Friday.
According to a source close to the deal, Mugota agreed with the Batanai FC executive that he would receive the $4,000 bonus if he guides the club to safety.
“He will get his monthly salary and his winning bonuses, and these are not included in the $4,000 reward after Batanai’s survival,” said the source.
Mugota will not be working alone, as he is set to bring his entire technical team from Marare FC to Batanai.
“They are all joining Batanai,” confirmed the source.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Mugota believes taking on struggling teams is part of the responsibility that comes with being a coach.
“Being a coach, you don’t only need to go to a team which is stationed in the right position,” Mugota said.
