Man rapes blood sister, denied bail

A man who used the darkness of the night to allegedly execute his dirty plans of raping his blood sister has appeared in court.

Finish Nhenda, 35, of Mbare appeared before magistrate Stanford Mambanje at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of rape.

The complainant in the matter is Joyce Nhenda, 33, of Mbare National.

The State, through prosecutor Tawanda Nyandoro, alleges that on May 25, 2023, at around 2000 hours, Joyce’s husband left her at their house when he went to Stodart to drink with his friends.

Joyce then went to bed with her two minor children, but did not lock the door as it was going to be difficult for her husband to enter on his return from the beer drink.

At around 2200 hours, Joyce was awakened by Finish who had gone on top of her while heavily pressing his elbow on her eyes in an effort to close them.

Nhenda then had sex with Joyce without her consent.

Joyce was heavily disturbed and confused with what her brother was doing to her, asked why he was doing this to her as she was his blood sister, but Finish remained quiet.

After that he pulled his khaki trousers up and went out of the house.

Joyce’s husband came back home and she narrated her ordeal. Her husband told his wife to open a docket against Finish.

Finish was denied bail, he will appear in court on June 5, for his trial date.
