A man who stabbed to death another man who had come to prevent him from attacking his estranged wife has appeared in court.
Ediso Sani, 42, of Willovale Gardens appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates' Court charged with murder or, alternatively, contravening Section 47 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9.23.
The state alleges that, Sani went to Number 2105 in Egypt, Highfield, Harare with a double-edged sword with the intent of killing his ex-wife.
He was stopped from attacking his former wife by Chadwick Cosmas Zimbowa whom he then stabbed once on the neck and twice on the left and right side, resulting in Zimbowa dying on the spot.
Mangosi ordered Sani to apply to High Court for bail because of the severity of his and instructed him to appear in court on April 5, 2023.
Meanwhile, the ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Bhekhimpilo Khumalo,19, who is being sought in connection with a murder case which occurred at Mambanje Village, Dete on March 11 at about 20:00 hours.
The suspect allegedly struck Peter Lupahla,24, to death with a stone once on the neck after a misunderstanding over a torch light. Anyone with information is requested to report at any nearest police station.
