Lady Chevrons 2-0 Down After Second India Defeat

The Lady Chevrons are 2-0 down in their three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against India after suffering a 121-run defeat in the second match at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Sunday.

Zimbabwe failed to contain India’s batting power as centuries from Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma propelled the hosts to an imposing total of 328 for six before the tourists were bowled out for 207 in 48.5 overs.

The defeat followed a nine-wicket loss in the opening ODI on Friday, leaving Zimbabwe with one final opportunity to salvage pride when the two sides meet again on Wednesday.

The Lady Chevrons made an encouraging start in the second encounter after Nomvelo Sibanda dismissed Smriti Mandhana for a duck and Shafali Verma for eight within the first three overs.
