President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube as ZANU PF Secretary for Science and Technology in the party’s Politburo, taking over the portfolio previously held by Obert Mpofu.

The appointment marks a further change in the ruling party’s leadership following Mpofu’s reassignment to the Council of Elders in the latest reshuffle made ahead of ZANU PF’s 23rd National People’s Conference in Chinhoyi.
Ncube’s appointment places him in the party’s influential decision-making body, adding a new political responsibility to his role in government.
