A 43-year-old woman has been sentenced to an effective four years in prison by the Beitbridge Magistrates Court after being convicted of unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs following the recovery of 10kg of dagga at Dulibadzimu Bus Terminus.
Chipo Chimba was convicted of unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs.
The court sentenced her to five years in prison, with one year suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour, leaving her to serve an effective four years.

The State proved that on September 17, 2026, detectives from Beitbridge received a tip-off that Chimba was in possession of dangerous drugs at Dulibadzimu Bus Terminus.
Acting on the information, the detectives proceeded to the bus terminus and searched her luggage.
They discovered five cobs of dagga concealed in a floral bedspread.
The dagga weighed 10kg and had an estimated street value of US$1,402. It was seized as an exhibit, and Chimba was arrested on the spot.
