A 34-year-old Zimbiru Village man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted of aggravated indecent assault involving a two-year-old girl.
The accused appeared before the Chinamhora Magistrates’ Court, where the court heard that the offence occurred on July 26, 2026.
The victim’s mother had left the toddler playing outside their home with the accused, who is their neighbour, while she attended to household chores.

When she returned, she found the accused inside his room with the child. The court heard that she observed him touching the child inappropriately.
The mother immediately took the child away and reported the matter to the police, leading to the accused’s arrest.
The toddler was referred to Makumbe Hospital for a medical examination, and the resulting medical report was produced in court as evidence.
The court subsequently convicted the man and sentenced him to an effective 15 years in prison.
