Two brothers from Glen Norah A in Harare, Bruce and Changchu Chitaukire, have been arrested for allegedly killing their father, whom they accused of practicing witchcraft.
Bruce, 43, and Changchu, 47, reportedly killed their father Solomon Tendai Chitaukire, aged 73, at their Glen Norah family home on Saturday.
Police confirmed the duo’s arrest in a statement.
“The ZRP has arrested two sons, Bruce Chitaukire, 43, and Changchu Chitaukire, 47, for callous killing of their father, Solomon Tendai Chitaukire, 73, whom they accused of witchcraft on 28/01/23 at the family’s home in Glen Norah A, Harare.
“The suspects’ mother, Faith Chitaukire, had to seek refuge at a neighbour’s house, only to return the next morning and found the victim dead with multiple injuries all over the body,” said the police statement.
The brothers are expected to appear in court this week facing murder charges.
