An Epworth gang of armed robbers broke into a house in Marondera, killed a man then made off with cash and mobile phone handsets adding up to a value of US$9 200.
A member of the gang, Liason Taziva of Epworth, Harare has appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi accused of murder contravening Section 147 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9:23.
The court was informed that on September 23, 2022 at around 02:00 hours in Marondera, Taziva and his accomplices Josphat Muchenje, Felix Dapi, Elias Muchipuwa, Bright Mugodhi and Tatenda Mudzungairi went to Lucas Chimoka's house armed with a pistol, iron bar and a bolt cutter.

They stabbed him on the chest, just above the left nipple resulting in his death.
Taziva and his accomplices then ransacked the whole house while threatening to kill Chimoka’s wife.
The wife gave Taziva and his associates US$7 400 which was wrapped in a cloth and US$500 that was in a wallet.
The gang went on to steal ZAR2 000 they found in a cupboard as well as an iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and an Itel handsets before getting away.
