A 23-year-old man has appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Court after he was allegedly found in possession of morphine, pethidine and unregistered cough syrup during a police surveillance operation in Harare.
Isaac Jessub is facing one count of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs. He was remanded in custody.
The State alleges that detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics Unit acted on information linking Jessub to the illegal sale of pethidine at Sam Levy Village.
According to court papers, the alleged offence occurred on August 4, 2026.
Detectives conducting surveillance allegedly observed Jessub seated in the driver's seat of a Mercedes-Benz, registration number AGH 7940, repackaging ampoules from a tray into two envelopes.

Prosecutors allege they recovered 13 ampoules of morphine sulphate (2ml), five ampoules of pethidine and two 100ml bottles of BronCleer cough syrup.
The State further alleges that the cough syrup is not registered for use in Zimbabwe.
Jessub was arrested and taken to the CID Drugs and Narcotics Unit in Harare together with the recovered substances.
The seized drugs, valued at US$28, were booked as evidence.
