The Zimbabwe Education Squash Trust, in partnership with the Belgravia Squash Academy, will host the inaugural Redmark Group Squash Open at Belgravia Sports Club in Harare from August 7 to 8, 2026.
The tournament, which comes soon after the end of the school term, is open to junior and senior players, both male and female. More than 60 participants from Harare and across the country are expected to compete.
The event aims to provide players with valuable match practice and competitive exposure ahead of the holiday break and upcoming national tournaments, while also promoting grassroots participation in squash.
ZEST Director Mashumba Mukumba said the tournament forms part of the trust's broader strategy to strengthen the sport in Zimbabwe.
"The primary objective of the Redmark Group Squash Open is to provide players with increased competitive opportunities and valuable match practice as they prepare for the holiday break and upcoming national events. More importantly, the event seeks to raise the profile of squash and inspire greater participation at grassroots level," he said.

Mukumba said the tournament builds on the establishment of the Belgravia Squash Academy at Belgravia Sports Club.
"Through the combined efforts of ZEST and the Belgravia Squash Academy, we have built a strong pipeline of talent and created increased demand for regular competition, both locally and internationally."
He also thanked Belgravia Sports Club for providing its courts, saying the facilities would ensure high-quality competition and the smooth running of the tournament.
Mukumba said Redmark Group's sponsorship would play an important role in growing the sport.
"Corporate backing is vital to the growth and sustainability of sport, and we are grateful for Redmark Group's commitment to developing squash in Zimbabwe. We look forward to expanding the tournament in future editions to attract larger prize funds and top players from across the region and internationally."
Redmark Group Chairman Mathew Manyangadze said sponsoring the tournament was part of the company's commitment to giving back to the community.
"Redmark is grateful for the support we receive from fellow Zimbabweans and the Government. As a sign of appreciation, we would like to give back to the community by sponsoring sport."
