Cut Rag Processors (CRP) has attained ISO 9001:2015 certification, a globally recognised quality management standard, marking another milestone for the tobacco processing company less than a year after commissioning its US$120 million processing plant in Harare.
The company announced, two weeks ago, that its operations team, together with Managing Director and Operations Director, had successfully achieved the certification, describing it as a reflection of its commitment to quality, consistency and continuous improvement.
"Our Operations team, together with our MD and Operations Director, have achieved global ISO 9001:2015 certification. This milestone reflects the dedication, discipline and consistency this team brings to our processes every single day," the company said.
The certification comes as CRP continues to expand its processing capacity following the launch of its state-of-the-art tobacco processing facility in November last year.
The US$120 million plant is capable of processing up to three million kilogrammes of cut rag tobacco for export each month and producing 60,000 cigarette master cases, significantly increasing Zimbabwe's value-addition capacity in the tobacco sector.
