Chawonza Dismisses AfricaBet Gate Takings Claims

Dynamos chairman Vincent Chawonza has dismissed reports linking club sponsors AfricaBet and ContiPay to the collection of gate takings, insisting the sponsors have no involvement in matchday revenue and are not seeking to take control of the club.

The outspoken club boss was responding to growing speculation that has dominated social media and football discussions in recent days following Dynamos’ lucrative sponsorship agreement with the betting company and financial services partner.

“Our sponsors are not collecting any gate takings,” said Chawonza.

“There is no truth in the claims that AfricaBet wants to take over Dynamos. The partnership is purely for sponsorship and supporting the club.”
