Businessman Wicknell Chivayo has confirmed that Dynamos FC will still receive a brand-new 65-seater team bus and a US$50,000 cash reward despite losing 2-1 to rivals CAPS United FC in the Harare Derby at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
Before the match, Chivayo had pledged to purchase a new team bus if Dynamos defeated CAPS United. However, following the loss, he announced that he would still honour the promise in recognition of the team’s effort and the strong turnout by supporters.

Speaking on X, Chivayo said, “I will still proceed with purchasing a brand-new 65-seater bus for Dynamos Football Club.”
He added, “In addition, I will also give the players US$50,000 for trying hard as motivation and encouragement despite the defeat.”
Chivayo clarified that the gesture was not a sponsorship arrangement but an appreciation of Dynamos fans who filled Rufaro Stadium for one of Zimbabwean football’s most anticipated fixtures.
