
Zimbabwe’s beverages giant Delta Corporation has reinforced its long-standing investment in human capital development after committing more than US$2,1 million towards education support, as the company expands its bursary programme targeting underprivileged learners across the country.
The initiative, unveiled in Harare, is designed to support high-potential students from A-Level through to university, positioning education as a key pillar for sustainable national development and skills growth.
Delta Corporation General Manager for Corporate Affairs and company spokesperson Patricia Murambinda said the programme reflects the company’s continued commitment to building Zimbabwe’s future workforce.
“Delta remains committed to supporting Zimbabwe’s national development agenda by investing in education and skills. Through this bursary programme, we are helping to protect learners’ potential from financial barriers and strengthen the country’s future workforce,” she said.
“In line with our theme, ‘Educating Today’s Learners, Powering Zimbabwe’s Future,’ we believe targeted support for deserving students is a practical and measurable contribution to building sustainable communities and a stronger economy,” Murambinda added.

The company has supported learners for more than two decades through its education assistance programme, providing close to US$100 000 annually in bursaries. To date, over 1 300 students have benefited from the initiative, with 100 learners currently receiving support in 2026 alone.
The programme is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, ensuring beneficiaries are drawn from disadvantaged communities across all provinces.
Beyond tuition support, Delta has expanded its education footprint through complementary investments in infrastructure and technical skills development. These include the construction of classroom blocks in underserved areas and specialised training programmes delivered through the Mandel Training Centre, the Delta Technical Institute and the Driver Training School.
The company’s Graduate Development Programme continues to nurture early-career professionals, contributing to skills development in sectors such as health, engineering and finance.
Murambinda said the bursary initiative goes beyond improving access to education, focusing on empowering young people to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Delta has encouraged beneficiaries to pursue excellence and use the opportunity to uplift their communities as private sector participation increasingly complements government efforts in education and skills development.
