Highlanders supporters have begun to show renewed support for head coach Benjani Mwaruwari following the team’s latest draw against Scottland FC at Rufaro Stadium.
Bosso have now played six matches under Mwaruwari, drawing all of them to collect six points. While the run of draws had previously frustrated many fans, the mood among supporters appeared to shift after the weekend result against a strong Scottland side.
Despite playing away at Rufaro Stadium against a team boasting several high-profile and skilled players, Highlanders managed to hold Scottland to a draw, a result that many fans celebrated with optimism rather than disappointment.
In recent weeks, sections of the Bosso faithful had expressed anger at the team’s inability to secure victories. However, during and after the match against Scottland, supporters were noticeably more positive, applauding the team’s effort and encouraging the coach.
One supporter, using the username Ba Almah, praised the work being done by the former Zimbabwe international striker.
“The Highlanders FC coach is doing a commendable job despite the negativity coming from some corners of the country. Building a strong and competitive team takes time, patience and unity,” said Ba Almah.
“Progress may not always be immediate, but the signs are there and positive results will come very soon. It is important for us as supporters to stand behind the coach and the team during this period.”
