On July 1, 2025, Ncube demanded that Idah Ncube show him the location of his parents’ graves.
When she refused, he allegedly force-marched her about 150 metres from the homestead and struck her multiple times on the back of the head with a brick.
A witness who heard screams attempted to intervene, but Ncube threatened them. He later admitted to the crime, saying: “I have killed her.”
During the trial, Ncube claimed provocation, stating that Idah Ncube had admitted responsibility for the deaths of his parents and maternal grandmother, which caused him to lose self-control.
However, the court found that the State had proven intent and convicted him of murder.
