ZIFA signs First-Ever Hydration deal with ProBottlers

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has secured its first-ever official hydration partner after signing a two-year sponsorship agreement with ProBottlers worth US$120,000 annually running for 2 years

The partnership marks a new chapter for Zimbabwean football, as the association moves to professionalise its operations and enhance player welfare through structured commercial support.

Under the deal, ProBottlers will supply water and energy drinks to all national teams, including the Warriors, the Mighty Warriors and junior representative sides, while also supporting ZIFA’s expanding grassroots programmes across the country.

ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi described the agreement as a significant step forward in modernising the game and aligning it with international standards.

“This partnership represents an important step forward for Zimbabwean football. Proper hydration is fundamental to modern sport, and ProBottlers’ support strengthens our ability to prepare, compete and recover at the highest level. We are encouraged by the confidence that corporate Zimbabwe is showing in our vision,” said Magwizi

For the first time in its history, ZIFA will have a dedicated hydration sponsor, a move seen as critical in improving player performance, recovery and overall welfare across all levels of the game.

ProBottlers Managing Director Rory Harley said the company was proud to partner with the national association and contribute to the growth of the sport.

“Football has the power to unite communities and inspire the next generation. We are excited to play our part in supporting Zimbabwe’s national teams and grassroots programmes by ensuring players are properly hydrated and equipped to perform at their best,” Harley said during the signing of the partnership.

Harley added that ProBottlers has previously supported the COSAFA Under-17 tournament and Zimbabwean cricket, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to sport development.

The deal adds momentum to ZIFA’s recent commercial drive, which has also seen the unveiling of the BancABC Roots Impact Programme, its flagship grassroots development initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing young talent nationwide. The association also secured sponsorship from Ecobank ahead of the national team’s participation at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
