A 16-year-old schoolboy from Mabelreign, Harare, has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a 28-year-old housemaid in a shocking attack.
Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the incident occurred on October 12, 2025, at Zambezi Flats, Mabelreign.
According to police, the teenager first attacked the maid with an electric shocker before stabbing her multiple times in the neck with a kitchen knife. The confrontation reportedly followed the maid accusing the boy of stealing US$100 from her room.

“The suspect has been arrested and referred to court, where he was remanded in custody,” Commissioner Nyathi said.
“The victim is alive and is recovering from the wounds she sustained during the attack.”
A video of the arrest has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention to the violent incident.
