Zim to Host Afghanistan for Historic Test and T20I Series in Harare

 

 

Zimbabwe’s national cricket team is gearing up to host Afghanistan for an anticipated home series at Harare Sports Club.

The tour will feature a one-off Test match scheduled from 20 to 24 October 2025, followed by a three-match T20I series on 29 October, 31 October, and 2 November 2025.

This will mark Zimbabwe’s first home Test since 2021, rekindling the spirit of red-ball cricket in the country.

While the official squad announcement is yet to be made, passionate fans have already taken to social media to share their preferred selections and suggestions. 

Among the trending names is young spinner Ryan Simbi, whose unorthodox bowling action has captured the attention of local cricket enthusiasts.

“Give Ryan Simbi one chance in the Test and T20. His bowling action is not easy to play for many batters — give him one chance,” urged one fan, Shahil Sami, on social media.

Another supporter, identified as Mhofu, echoed the sentiment, posting, “Give spinner Ryan Simbi one chance! He is an amazing talent.”
