Zimbabwe Cricket has named a 15-man squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against India, with the return of all-rounder Wessly Madhevere and fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri headlining the changes as the Chevrons prepare for one of their biggest white-ball assignments of the year.
The series, scheduled for July 23, 25 and 26 at Harare Sports Club, comes at a time when Zimbabwe are seeking to build on encouraging performances at home despite ending their recent T20I campaign against Bangladesh with a series defeat.
National selectors have made three changes to the squad that featured against Bangladesh in Bulawayo. Madhevere returns after missing the previous series, while Nyamhuri is back after recovering from a niggle that sidelined him during the Bangladesh T20Is. Wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga has also earned his maiden T20 International call-up, adding fresh competition behind the stumps.
The trio replace Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa and Tashinga Musekiwa, giving Zimbabwe renewed options as they prepare to face the reigning ICC Men's T20 World Cup champions.

Captain Sikandar Raza will once again lead the side, with Zimbabwe expected to rely heavily on his experience alongside senior players such as Blessing Muzarabani, Ryan Burl and Richard Ngarava. The return of Madhevere also strengthens the team's balance, giving Zimbabwe another spin-bowling option while adding depth to the batting order.
Nyamhuri's return is equally significant. The young left-arm pacer had been unavailable through injury, forcing selectors to bring in Tanaka Chivanga as cover. Chivanga impressed sufficiently to retain his place, giving Zimbabwe additional pace resources alongside Muzarabani, Ngarava, Brad Evans and Nyamhuri in what appears to be one of the country's strongest fast-bowling attacks in recent years.
Tsiga's inclusion is perhaps the most intriguing selection. While he has featured in other formats, his first T20I call-up suggests selectors are looking beyond established combinations as they continue to identify players capable of strengthening Zimbabwe's white-ball depth ahead of future international assignments.
The Chevrons recently secured a historic innings victory over Bangladesh in the one-off Test before claiming the ODI series 2-1 in Harare. Although Bangladesh recovered to win the T20I series 2-1 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe remained competitive throughout, offering evidence that the gap between the two sides has narrowed considerably.
