Newman Nyamhuri's impressive rise has been rewarded with his maiden call-up to Zimbabwe's T20I squad, while Milton Shumba has earned a welcome return as Zimbabwe Cricket kept faith with the team that enjoyed a memorable ICC Men's T20 World Cup campaign.
Zimbabwe on Tuesday named a 15-man squad for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, with selectors making just two changes to the side that reached the Super Eight stage of the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
The series will be played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on July 15, 17 and 19.
After stunning cricket giants Australia and Sri Lanka and finishing top of their first-round group unbeaten at the World Cup, the Chevrons are clearly not looking to fix what is not broken. Captain Sikandar Raza will once again lead a squad packed with familiar faces as Zimbabwe aims to carry its World Cup momentum onto home soil.
The biggest talking point is the inclusion of Nyamhuri, whose strong performances across formats have finally earned him a place in the T20I squad. The exciting young fast bowler will be hoping to mark the occasion with his international debut.
Shumba also returns to the T20I side for the first time since featuring against the Netherlands at the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, giving Zimbabwe another experienced batting option.
