A 38-year-old man has appeared before the Harare Magistrate’s Court, facing allegations of illegally occupying and constructing a house on land that does not belong to him.

Solomon Muzhona, from Stoneridge Park, Waterfalls, is charged with unlawful occupation after allegedly erecting a four-roomed house on a residential stand legally owned by Bryn Mteki, the complainant in the matter.

Court papers indicate that on August 24, 2025, Muzhona unlawfully entered stand number 1358 in Stoneridge Park, which belongs to Mteki, and began constructing a four-roomed house without the owner’s permission.

Despite being approached and warned by Mteki, Muzhona reportedly refused to vacate the property and continued residing there.

The matter was subsequently reported to the police, resulting in Muzhona’s arrest.

The State maintains that Muzhona’s actions were unlawful and violated the property rights of the rightful owner. He is expected back in court soon for trial proceedings.
