Zvirevo Appointed Acting CEO of IDBZ

The Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe has named Willing Zvirevo as its Acting Chief Executive Officer, starting 1 September 2025. 

The board, led by Chairman Dr. Kudzai Mufunde, said Zvirevo will serve in this role until a permanent CEO is chosen.


Zvirevo is a Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience in Zimbabwe and the Southern African region. 

He has worked in banking, insurance, auditing, and other financial services. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK), and is registered with the Public Accountants and Auditors Board.

“Mr. Zvirevo has shown strong ethical leadership and dedication to excellence, making him the right choice for this role,” said Dr. Mufunde.


In his previous roles at IDBZ, Mr. Zvirevo helped improve governance, create new financial solutions, and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.

 As Acting CEO, he is expected to keep the bank moving forward in supporting national infrastructure projects and Zimbabwe’s development goals.

“I am honoured to lead the IDBZ team at this important time for our country. I look forward to working with staff and stakeholders to ensure the bank delivers on its mission,” said Zvirevo.

Dr. Mufunde added, “We wish Zvirevo every success and will fully support him as he leads the bank during this transitional time.”
